The Waiting Room
A part of Limbo well-known by adventurers is affectionately called The Waiting Room. When an adventurer falls unconscious due to their wounds or another means, they will find themselves in a small chamber to await their fate. This chamber looks different to everyone, but many describe it as a calming, meditative space – despite the looming feeling that you’re “waiting for something”.
If an adventurer manages to stabilize themselves or an ally stabilizes them, the adventurer has the opportunity to contact their patron or favored god from across The Veil. If they’re lucky, their deity will pluck them from The Waiting Room and have a chat before sending them back to the Mortal World.
If an adventurer is unlucky and dies from their wounds, it is said the door of The Waiting Room opens and they are permitted to enter the Spirit World.
